About ... me!

More than you really wanted to know ... I am pretty sure

I love Sci-Fi ...

It seems that the only reviews out there for science fiction are in the mainstream media and I can't help but notice that each one - good or bad - sounds the same: liberal and biased on a non-science fiction lover's idea of what makes a good science fiction film, book, movie, game, etc. So like any great idea it came in the night. Late, late night. Around midnight or later, I think. Much later than most people want to even think about. I digress. The point is, after having read and been disatisfied with the reviews provided in the mainstream I decided to give it the "old collage try" and so last year in the fall I began the original SFRev site on my old Freewebs account. Well, I don't really like Freewebs anymore as it just does not fit my needs any more.

Name? Esther Barnett

Age? .... Nosey! Why do you want to know?

Religion and beliefs? Christian ... thanks for asking.

"I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth:

And in Jesus Christ His only Son, Our Lord; Who was concieved by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried ...the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended to Heaven and sits on the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life ever after. Amen." - the Apostles' Creed

As for politics ... as if that matters ... I am relatively independant, but right now I agree most with the Conservatives. What can I say? They fit my beliefs ... as for Liberals ... not so much.

Why do I like sci-fi if I am a Christian? Well, let me see ... Sci-Fi is the only genre left that has any real imagination left to it - if you break from the mold or do something original with the old molds. The rich escapist fare and morality tales reflected in most sci-fi can be very entertaining and poingnent. At other times it can be light, hilarious, and amusing. It is like any other fiction, with a twist.
